3D Print Disclaimer & Product Care
Products sold by The Backwoods Trading Post may be made using 3D printing. Because of the nature of the printing process, each item may have small variations.
Normal 3D Print Characteristics
3D printed items may have:
- Visible layer lines
- Small seams
- Minor texture differences
- Tiny surface imperfections
- Slight color variation
- Small differences between one print and another
These characteristics are normal and are not considered defects.
Color Variations
Colors may look slightly different in person due to:
- Screen settings
- Lighting
- Filament batch differences
- Printing conditions
- The natural behavior of multicolor filament
Multicolor, rainbow, silk, dual-color, and specialty filaments may vary significantly from one print to another.
Small prints may show very little color change when printed with multicolor filament.
Heat Warning
Most 3D printed products are made from thermoplastic materials that may soften, warp, or deform when exposed to heat.
Do not leave 3D printed items:
- In hot vehicles
- Near heaters
- Near open flames
- On hot surfaces
- In direct high heat for long periods
For candle holders or candle-related products, do not place a hot candle directly on the printed surface unless the product specifically states that it is designed for direct heat exposure.
Use a protective barrier such as a candle lid, coaster, felt pads, or another suitable heat-resistant surface when recommended.
Small Parts & Children
Some products may include:
- Small parts
- Moving pieces
- Magnets
- Clicker components
- Hardware
- Removable pieces
These items may present a choking hazard.
Products containing small parts are not intended for children who may place items in their mouths.
Adult supervision is recommended when appropriate.
Moving & Articulated Parts
Some 3D printed products include moving or articulated parts.
These parts may wear over time with repeated use. Excessive bending, twisting, pulling, or forcing parts beyond their intended movement may cause damage.
Product Size
Photos may make products appear larger or smaller than they actually are.
Please review the approximate dimensions listed in the product description before ordering.
Care Instructions
To help your 3D printed item last longer:
- Keep away from excessive heat
- Avoid prolonged direct sunlight when possible
- Do not place in a dishwasher unless specifically stated
- Do not microwave
- Do not expose to open flames
- Clean gently with a soft damp cloth when appropriate
- Avoid harsh chemicals unless the product specifically allows them
- Do not force moving parts
Food Contact
Unless a product is specifically described as intended for food contact, 3D printed items should not be assumed to be food-safe.
Products intended for food-related use may include additional care and use instructions on the individual product listing.
Outdoor Use
Unless specifically stated otherwise, 3D printed products are not guaranteed for long-term outdoor exposure.
Heat, sunlight, moisture, and weather conditions may cause fading, warping, brittleness, or other changes over time.
Handmade / Made-to-Order Nature
Many products are made individually and may not look exactly identical to product photos or previous prints.
Minor variation is part of the 3D printing process and makes each piece slightly unique.
